The Academic Bridge Program has allowed me to make a meaningful impact academically, personally and socially. I’ve been able to fully focus on my academics while also giving back to my community without worrying about how I can pay for everything. I’m forever grateful for this scholarship and opportunity to pursue my dreams!

The generosity of the donors creates a lasting impact on students’ lives, year after year, enhancing their mental health and financial stability. This support empowers students to thrive, allowing them to succeed in their respective fields and carry forward the benefits of their education. Without this support, I cannot confidently say that I would be where I am today.

Academic Bridge Program
I am a first-generation student pursuing higher education to inspire the next generation in my community. Growing up, I witnessed the sacrifices my mother made to provide for our family. She worked tirelessly, even taking up three jobs at one point, to ensure that my siblings and I had the opportunities she never had. I chose to attend UTD because of the Academic Bridge Program, I aligned with the values and goal of the program, and it has been a tremendous help during my time at UTD.

Healthcare Studies
Academic Bridge Program
I chose the University of Texas at Dallas for its Healthcare Studies program, driven by my aspirations as a pre-medical student eager to deepen my understanding of healthcare’s various aspects. Throughout my time at UTD, I expanded my medical knowledge and cultivated meaningful personal and professional connections with faculty and peers through engaging coursework and extracurricular organizations. These transformative experiences have solidified my preparation for the next significant step in my academic journey: medical school.

Academic Bridge Program
From tutoring to mentoring, housing, employment and financial assistance; I was given a second family through ABP [Academic Bridge Program] . I was an underprivileged first-generation, DISD [Dallas Independent School District] graduate with zero guidance. Today, I have completed two under-graduate degrees and will be completing two masters next semester.

A huge way the Academic Bridge Program has helped me is through tutoring. It is great to go to a place where there are so many people who want you to succeed.

The Academic Bridge Program gave me the opportunity to receive an undergraduate education. Words cannot express how thankful I am for being able to accomplish my childhood dream. I was awarded free tuition, housing and books. Without this help I would not be able to graduate.

The Academic Bridge Program has helped me in so many ways, and the Bridge family is so supportive and caring. This scholarship has allowed me to focus on my studies rather than my finances. The help I have received has been truly life-changing, and I hope to be able to give back in this way in the future.

Academic Bridge Program
A high school advisor let me know about all of the great opportunities that Academic Bridge had. We were able to come in the summer and basically get prepared for the college experience. They taught us how to study and helped us be prepared for the environment and the academic workload.

My favorite part about being a student at UT Dallas is the international perspective.
Being able to be engaged with cultures from across the globe has really helped me to grow as a person.

Academic Bridge Program
I learned about the Academic Bridge Program when they visited the college center at my high school.
I went to talk to them, and I thought it was a really interesting opportunity so I applied right then and there.
I would not be here without that support.

Academic Bridge Program
My favorite part about being a UT Dallas student is the people I have met from all over the world, including my fellow Academic Bridge students.
Coming in from an inner-city high school, the Academic Bridge Program has helped me hugely.
They have helped me with financial needs, tutoring, books, housing, scholarships —pretty much everything I needed to finish out my bachelor’s degree.
