December 5, 2022

A person in a beekeeper’s protective gear holds out a honeycomb full of bees while standing within a net tent. A crowd safely outside the tent is captivated by the presentation. Among them, another person is donning beekeeper gear in preparation to enter the tent.

UT Dallas introduced the Comet Honeybees to visiting guests at the recent RCE [Regional Center for Expertise] North Texas Annual Summit. From within a net tent, Eve Gersh, our Bee Campus USA Eco Rep, pulled out and displayed the elements of a typical hive. As seen above, Dr. Scott Rippel also donned protective gear and joined the demonstration. Guests were informed about the important role that native pollinators play in agriculture and the environment in general, and were treated to samples of Comet Honey.
