Seen through the leaves of magnolia trees, two workers stand in the corner of a drained shallow rectangular pool, powerwashing the walls and moving grills. Stacked along one edge of the pool are the flat rocks which normally form its patterned floor. Behind them, up at ground level, is a gathering of students.

The reflective pools of Margaret McDermott Mall recently received their seasonal maintenance.
