Three men in hardhats and safety vests stand in front of a new commuter train at a rail station construction site.

From left, Dr. Calvin D. Jamison, vice president for Facilities & Economic Development, Dr. Richard C. Benson, president of The University of Texas at Dallas, and Dr. Kyle Edgington, vice president for Development & Alumni Relations, visited the UT Dallas DART [Dallas Area Rapid Transit] station construction site when one of the Silver Line trains was in. These trains are now making test runs along the new commuter rail line as more sections of track are laid down between stations from Shiloh Road in Plano to Terminal B at DFW Airport. This new line is expected to start carrying riders in late 2025 or early 2026, connecting UTD to seven North Texas cities and four other lines.
