The Athenaeum at UT Dallas

Ribbon-Cutting and Groundbreaking

On September 24, 2024, a ribbon-cutting for the first phase of the Edith and Peter O’Donnell Jr. Athenaeum —and a groundbreaking for its second phase— were celebrated at the same ceremony in The University of Texas at Dallas. UTD leadership, representatives from state and local government, long-time supporters of UT Dallas and members of the surrounding community came together to witness the start of this arts and performance complex. As the new home for the Crow Collection of Asian Art, a venue to mount exhibits from the Dallas Museum of Art, and a place to study the University’s various art collections, the first phase of this facility is expected to be a magnet for the arts in North Texas. The next phase will support the performing arts and feature a 680-seat concert hall. Even as this second phase is under construction, more phases are being planned for the future.
