Comets LANding Gaming & Esports Center
Ribbon-Cutting
On January 30, 2025, UT Dallas opened the highly-anticipated Comets LANding Gaming & Esports Center —the largest facility of its kind in the state. This 15,000-gross-square-foot structure is the new home of the champion Comets esports team. In addition to having a dedicated gaming arena for the players, the building offers multiple well-equipped casual gaming lounges available to all UTD students, spread out across two levels. Comets LANding includes space for meetings, broadcasting and dining at its in-house “Buffalo Wild Wings Go” restaurant. This facility is the direct result of student input, and has become the hub of gaming-related educational programs on campus.
The opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting attended by UT System and City of Richardson officials, an exhibition game between UTD’s varsity team and the UNT [University of North Texas] Trailblazers, open gaming and free samples of buffalo wings.
